Bluebox

For producers and production teams

Event producers

A production team's clock starts well before curtain — you need to know the house is filling on schedule, not just that the show is ready. BlueBox handles the guest-facing side of arrival, seating and the on-screen program, so your team can watch readiness build toward doors instead of guessing from a paper list.

Before doors

A guest list ready
well before curtain.

Reserved seating for a ceremony, a banquet-style gala performance, or a touring show's guest list can be imported and assigned to tables or seats ahead of time, with a running count per section as the plan is finalised. This is the same underlying seating chart tooling used for weddings and galas, applied to a production's arrival plan instead.

At doors

Readiness your stage manager
can actually see.

As the audience checks in — self-service, staff-assisted, or at a rented BlueBox display near the entrance — live arrival counts and readiness indicators update, so a production team knows how close the house is to full before making the call to open the show.

Through the show

A running order the audience
can follow too.

A published program timeline with a live "now" marker can mirror your run-of-show for the audience, and announcements let you reach every guest immediately if an intermission runs long or a scene changes. None of this touches your cueing or AV systems — it's the layer guests see, running alongside the systems your crew already uses. Renting a display for the lobby follows the same process as any other event; see display rental.

Frequently asked questions

Is BlueBox part of our production or run-of-show software?

No. BlueBox doesn't run cues, lighting or AV. It manages the guest-facing layer around a show or ceremony — the guest list, check-in, arrivals and the program guests see — which sits alongside your production tools rather than replacing them.

How do we know how many guests have arrived before we open doors?

Live arrival counts and readiness indicators update as guests check in — self-service, staff-assisted, or at a BlueBox display — giving a stage manager or house manager a real-time view of the house without walking it.

Can we show a running program to the audience during the show?

Yes. A published program timeline with a live 'now' marker can reflect the run-of-show as it happens, and announcements let you reach the audience immediately if timing shifts.

Can BlueBox handle reserved seating for a ceremony or performance?

Yes. Guests can be assigned a table or seat, and the seating view shows a running count while assignments are finalised, useful for reserved-seating ceremonies as well as banquet-style shows.

Do we need our own hardware at the door?

No. A BlueBox display can be rented for the entrance, with delivery, setup and pickup handled within BlueBox's service areas, or guests can check in and search from their own phone.
